Sophia's Thank You to the Hospice Volunteers

Created by Sylvia 11 years ago
I've felt Sophia's presence very strongly on a number of occassions since she passed. This Wednesday I had the honor of being invited to speak at the monthly meeting of the the Mercy Hospice Volunteers - those individuals who so lovingly and generously gave of their time and of their love to be with Sophia during her last few days. I wanted to personally thank and acknowledge them all for their amazing support, and let them know just what a blessing they were for Sophia and for myself. There were often times that I had to leave Sophia's bedside to take care of Lilly, her cat, take care of other matters, or catch a few hours of much needed sleep. Many incredible hospice volunteers came in so she wouldn't have to be alone during these times. They held Sophia's hand, sang to her, massaged her, and showered her with love. She was receiving quite a wonderful healing through their love, tenderness, and compassion. Just prior to the day when the hospice volunteers arrived, Sophia was saying that the one thing that she really missed and needed was touch. Well, the beautiful hospice angels provided that in spades, and I could just feel Sophia soaking in all that love and nurturing on a very deep level. So I was delighted to have the opportunity to speak at the hospice meeting, and when I did, I felt Sophia was very much in the room with us, and in a way, speaking through me at times as well. It was a wonderful feeling of connection with both the group of volunteers and with Sophia, all delighting in the joyous presence and profound meaning of love in our lives. Thank you to Mercy Hospice, and to Sophia. My deep love and gratitude to all, Sylvia
